Observation: Within the Essay

NEWBORN TODDLER OBSERVATION

ECE 215 Infant/Toddler Curriculum

For my initially observation I selected the Early Head Start Program in Omak. I was with the facility on February 14th from almost eight: 30 to 10: 31 A. Meters. The name of the head teacher and supervisor in the centre is Jodi. On this early morning I was particularly looking for proof of the eight principals in the research of Magda Gerber as explained in section one of the textbook. There was four adults to the eight toddlers inside the center and all sorts of them have experienced some trained in early the child years development. The children were age groups two and one half to three and a half years old. The following are some of the observations which i made during my time at the center. I saw the employees modeling ideal behavior rather than teaching or preaching. Your children have breakfast time shortly after arriving at the center and the staff rinsed hands " with” your children and mentioned what they had been doing; " now I was putting soap on my hands” and " now I was taking one paper bath towel to dry my personal hands”. The caregivers did not just serve the children their particular breakfast they were allowed to dish up their own food with developmentally appropriate utensils. They had a small pitcher with the milk in that that a new special serve spout in order to avoid spills, that were there the children serve their own milk into a cup after which put it within their bowl, That stuff seriously by allowing the children to serve themselves they were well intentioned of their skills and plays a role in their thoughts of achievement. It would have been completely quicker to serve the food to the children as I have observed in other centers yet they allowed the youngsters to serve themselves hence teaching various self support skills. The adults lay with the children at lunch break and patterned desired tendencies. One of the educators put food in her bowl and in a conversational tone explained " now i am putting the cereal in my bowl, We don't need to put too much or it will spill”.
