3M's Sports and Enjoyment Products organization unit had taken an existing technology, 3M's " micro-replicationвЂќ and applied it to a the game of golf glove. 3M has appreciated great success from merging the " micro-replicationвЂќ with high quality Cabretta sheep leather-based to create a top quality golfing glove that is second to none being offered available. Since the intro of the 3M Greptile Proper grip golf glove there has been a big influx of competitors who offer a related technology in the golf industry. Although the global market for golf safety gloves is estimated at $300 million with 60 percent or $180 million in the us. The problem is mass merchandisers have got increased their very own share from the market within the last year. With companies including Nike, Titleist, and FootJoy offering product's that focus on technology and comfort that differentiate all their golfing mitts from competitor's gloves out there. 3M has a reputation for innovation; the Greptile Hold Technology is in the growth level of the support life cycle. Therefore 3M must find ways to promote upcoming growth of this technology, this leaves two questions for 3M: (1) what other applications do I visualize for the Greptile technology within the sporting activities and leisure market? Since the Greptile technology is a new technology 3M needs to find ways to apply this technology within the sports and amusement market.
